Terms of Service
Welcome to Jewelry Identifier ("the app"). These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the app. By downloading, installing, or using the app, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The service
Jewelry Identifier is a mobile app that uses artificial intelligence to help you identify, document, and estimate the value of jewelry pieces from photographs you provide. The app is for informational and personal use only.
2. AI estimates are not professional appraisals
All identifications, metal readings, era estimates, designer attributions, authenticity scores, and value ranges produced by the app are automated estimates generated by AI. They are not professional appraisals and should not be relied upon for insurance, resale, tax, legal, or financial decisions. For any decision involving monetary value, always consult a certified appraiser, jeweler, or qualified expert in person.
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for purpose of any result. AI models can and do make mistakes.
3. Subscription terms
Premium features (unlimited scans, full hallmark decoding, value estimates, PDF reports, and AI chat) require a paid subscription. Pricing is shown in the app prior to purchase. Available plans:
- Weekly — auto-renews weekly
- Yearly — includes a 3-day free trial, then auto-renews yearly
- Yearly (discount offer) — first year at a reduced price, then auto-renews at the standard yearly price
Auto-renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account upon confirmation of purchase and again at each renewal.
Free trial
Where a free trial is offered, no charge is made during the trial period. To avoid being charged, you must cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Unused free trial time is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
How to manage or cancel
Manage and cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on iPhone, or under your Apple ID in App Store on Mac. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.
Refunds
All purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be made through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly.
4. Restoring purchases
If you reinstall the app or switch to a new device, you can restore your active subscription by tapping "Restore Purchases" on any paywall screen. Restoration requires you to be signed in to the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
5. Your responsibilities
By using the app you agree to:
- Only photograph items you own or have permission to photograph
- Not use the app for unlawful purposes, including counterfeiting or fraud
- Not attempt to reverse engineer, tamper with, or extract the app's source code or assets
- Not abuse, overload, or attempt to disrupt the AI processing infrastructure
6. Intellectual property
The app, including its name, logo, design, code, and content, is owned by us and protected by copyright and trademark law. Photos you provide remain yours; we claim no ownership over your photographs or your saved collection data.
7. Disclaimers
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. AI features depend on third-party services that may be temporarily unavailable.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to financial loss from acting on AI-generated estimates. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you have paid for the app in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it from your device. We may suspend or terminate access to premium features if you violate these Terms or abuse the service.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the app or release notes. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is registered, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
